Your Gateway To Nepal And Beyond

Jomson Airport is in the 'New Jomsom' area which lies across the Kaliganda river from main Jomsom area. The airport is relatively 'normal' in comparison to the more adventurous Lukla Airport but planes need to carefully swerve through the narrow cliffs of Kaligandaki gorges to land and takeoff from this airport which makes this one of the most interesting airports in the world.
Jomsom is also called the Windy City because it always gets huge winds throughout the day. The winds start to pickup right after about 10AM. They are so strong that the planes cannot afford to fly after that. That is why you only get flights to Jomsom in the morning-time.
